Baptism Brunch

Fiona's baptism was very intimate and simple. No fuss and stress. We decided to have brunch before the baptism so that folks could still enjoy the rest of their Sunday. Just immediate kin and a handful of friends. We wished that we would've invited just a few more people. But then the list would just get bigger and bigger. So, we left it at that.

Brunch was lovely. We arrived around 10:00 a.m. at the 94th Aero Squadron. They had arranged outdoor seating with a view of a landing field, a man made pond, and a pen filled with ducks. The kids really got a kick out of that. I could tell everyone was ready to get down and dirty with the crab legs and indulge in Belgian waffles, creme brule, and chocolate dipped strawberries. Mmm, mmm, good. My appetite wasn't its usual self probably because I had to make sure everyone was doing okay. I didn't even get ANY crab legs. I know. That sucks! I did make room for dessert though. After that, we had plenty of time to get to the church. So instead of getting there too early, we decided to caravan to a nearby park and let the kiddies run around for a bit. It was chill.

We arrived at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala right on time. Deacon Vasquez performed a beautiful ceremony. He spoke as though he's known us for quite some time. He was a very humble and good-natured man. Fiona had the entire church to herself. We were blessed to have so much love around us.
