Oh, the milestones!

I've been so busy with work and adjusting to our "extra evening tasks" that I haven't had time or the energy to blog or check emails. I miss it. I'll catch up eventually. But I wanted to take a moment and jot down my baby girl's magnificent milestones.

She's turning onto her stomach.
She's grabbing things( what a grip).
She's a lot more vocal.
She's more sensitive to tickles.
She's looking longer and leaner but still has her sweet cheeks.
While Fiona and Papa were sitting by the window, he spotted her eyes track a small bird as it flew by.
I caught her mesmerized by the leaves in the trees swaying back and forth.
It's so amazing that everything is new to her.

Fiona At 15 Weeks

"Catch me, I'm falling..."

"Say a little prayer for me..."

Back to the Grind

I'm back at work. Same school, same classroom, same grade. But something is definitely different. As I teach, my in-between thoughts are of my sweet girl. I'm imagining her smile and her silly giggle. It really gets me through the day. I just thought about how teachers get to practically spend the whole day with other people's kids. What a job! We're all "parents" in this crazy institution. We make sure their homework is turned in, remind them to cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough, teach them to mind their manners, and above all, respect one another. Did I mention math, social studies, and language arts too? Yes, what a job!
And being a new mama, makes it even harder. I am pooped by the end of the day. But according to Teacher Long, "Baby, it's a lifestyle." Teachers are "super-mamas".

Ooh Baby Legs!

We love the Baby Legs. It keeps Fiona's legs warm and cozy even if she's only rockin' the onesie. "She's a maniac, maniac on the floor." Thank you Olivia.

Bye Bye 2007!

The year 2007 came and went so quickly. A whirlwind of events came our way. We were blessed with such a healthy and beautiful baby. We just stare at this little one and all our emotions come together-joy, amazement, wonder, and an endless amount of love. Just love. A different kind of love. Crazy love! Just the realization of bringing a baby into this world. The miracle of life. Wow! Yeah.

One last family photo shoot before we took the tree down. Here's to new beginnings!

Fiona's First Christmas

Thanks Bev for the sweet ornament!

A Cookie Christmas

We've been doing tons of baking for family and friends this Christmas. I think I've been eating cookies for breakfast, lunch , and dinner! I had so much fun making these candy cane cookies with Farley (thanks Alicia for the recipe). We were crackin' up because we felt like grade school kiddies doing a sloppy job. No two candy canes were alike or even close. And the hint of peppermint when we sprinkled the candy cane dust definitely topped it off. It was quite tasty!
